Clausematch takes on their second Dragon Boat Race challenge to raise funds for WaterAid UK

Clausematch is competing in their second Dragon Boat Race challenge for the chance to become the Dragon Boat Race champions in Canary Wharf while raising funds for WaterAid, a non-profit organization that provides clean water and good hygiene to people around the world.

In 2023, dragon boat racing is something Clausematch's London office is doing for the second year. In July 2022, the crew made up of 17 employees dressed as sea creatures competed for the Winners' Trophy and hit the podium coming in third after two teams of more experienced racers.

Emma Kempton, Global Head of Customer Success at Clausematch and the racing team's captain, says: "People often take water for granted because we continuously use it for drinking, cleaning, and even for dragon boat races. Events such as this raise awareness that water is a scarce resource and aim at making a difference. We need to change our behaviours, we need to help where possible, so, we are happy that this event has become an annual fixture for our business. Even more so, as our team is an extremely competitive bunch. The first-ever challenge here in Canary Wharf near our offices last summer was a success: we came in third place after much more experienced teams and also won the best dressed award. This year, we would love to beat our personal best. We see this as our chance and our duty to contribute whilst also competing and having a great time."

Right now, 771 million people around the world, 1 in 10 of us, don't have clean water close to home. By donating to this page, you can help WaterAid work with more communities to ensure people have a reliable supply of clean water and with it, the opportunity to live and thrive.

Last year, the first-ever Dragon Boat Race at Canary Wharf, raised over £22,000 for the Water Aid charity.
