Clausematch team go Dragon Boat racing to raise £s for WaterAid Charity

Clausematch is taking to the water on South Dock this summer for the chance to become the Dragon Boat Race champions in Canary Wharf whilst raising funds for WaterAid, a non-profit organization that provides clean water and good hygiene to people around the world.

On July the 7th, the team of 17 people from Clausematch’s London office is going to compete with other teams for the Winners’ Trophy. However, the real aim of this event is to support people in need of clean water globally.

Emma Kempton, Global Head of Customer Success at Clausematch, commented: "I spotted this event was happening near our offices and I knew immediately that we must enter a team. The Clausematch team are really excited to take on a new challenge of Dragon Boat Racing, we are a super competitive bunch and looking forward to giving this our best shot. Delighted that we can raise money for WaterAid and raise awareness and contribute to making a lasting difference reaching people around the world with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene."

Statistics show that 771 million people around the world, i.e. 1 in 10 of us, don't have clean water close to home. 1.7 billion people in the world do not have a decent toilet of their own. Every two minutes a child under five dies from diarrhoeal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. Due to this, whole communities are held back: children miss out on education, people struggle to earn a decent living, and families are often ill. By fundraising, teams help WaterAid work with more communities to ensure people have a reliable supply of clean water – and with it, the opportunity to thrive.
