Emma Skinner, Marketing Executive, discusses her experience at Clausematch

Emma Skinner is the Marketing Executive at Clausematch. We recently sat down with Emma to learn more about her role at Clausematch.

What is your role at Clausematch and what does it entail?

I’m a Marketing Executive and my role entails supporting the two Marketing Directors with virtual and in-person events, lead generation and campaigns. My day-to-day tasks can range from reviewing the company's database to drafting social media posts and creating videos.

What were you doing before joining the Clausematch team?

Before joining Clausematch I worked in Marketing for a financial service provider. I split my time between supporting our digital marketing efforts such as updating the website, social media and email marketing and working closely with the Business Development team on their lead generation initiatives.

Why did you decide to join Clausematch?

I wanted a change, new challenges, and to push myself and learn a new industry and different ways I could use my marketing skills.

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

I’m really lucky because I like my job, so the motivation is always there. If I'm having a down day I just give myself a little pep talk and push myself to complete the day's tasks and meet deadlines.

What advice would you give to recent new hires?

Just be you - Clausematch is made up of so many different people and everyone accepts you for you. Go ahead and share your ideas because they will be heard!

What is one professional skill you are actively developing?

I am currently working on developing my writing skills. As someone who has always struggled with spelling before Spell Check came along, I've always steered away from writing, but I feel like I am ready to take the leap and give it a go - what's the worst that could happen, no one reading it?

What was the first concert you ever attended?

Spice Girls. I remember my dad taking me when I was little and I sat on his shoulders for the whole concert - thanks dad!

Do you have any programs that you are currently binge-watching?

I’m not binge-watching anything right now, but if anyone is looking for something new to watch I’d recommend:

  • The Pact (season 1) - BBC
  • The Capture - BBC
  • Thirteen - BBC
  • Line of Duty - BBC
  • Luther - BBC
  • Safe - Netflix
  • Suits - Netflix

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is a hard one as it changes often, depending on the weather or my mood. In winter it would be either a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings or sausage and mash with red onion gravy and loads of peas. If asked this question in summer I would say grilled sea bass with Mediterranean vegetables.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

My childhood home. If walls could talk that house would tell you a million stories.
