Ted Murray, Senior Sales Development Representative, EMEA, discusses his experience at Clausematch

Ted Murray is the Senior Sales Development Representative for Clausematch in EMEA. We recently sat down with Ted to learn more about his role at Clausematch.

What is your role at Clausematch and what does it entail?

I am a Senior Sales Development Representative. My role is comprised of three different areas:

  • Researching companies across the Financial Services sector to identify ideal prospects
  • Outbound and inbound prospecting through a combination of calls, emails, LinkedIn, and events
  • Arranging meetings for Account Executives with prospective clients to help build pipeline for the business

What were you doing before joining the Clausematch team?

I was at Flexera, a SaaS-based IT Asset Management company. I came out of university, having studied Business, and jumped straight into the Sales Development world at Flexera. After 1.5 years, I was promoted to the Team Lead of 5-7 SDRs which was a natural next step.

Why did you decide to join Clausematch?

I wanted to move to London, get back into doing the day-to-day of Sales Development and be part of a growing organisation where I can mold my own career path - Clausematch offers all of this.

What has been one of your most memorable moments at Clausematch?

There’s been a few already, but to pin it down to one would be hard. If I were to pick, I really enjoy the conferences that we go to as a vendor, and I look forward to one day being able to present at one.

What advice would you give to a future Clausematch employee?

Be proactive, not just for your own personal development, but to ask for help when you need it. There’s always a solution when you leverage your stakeholders!

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I’m into running, swimming, and football (soccer). I usually have 2-3 events in the pipeline from 10K runs to marathons and triathlons. Two major goals of mine are to complete an Ironman before turning 30 and running from the East Coast of England to the West Coast.

If you could go anywhere in the world post-COVID, where would you go?

I’ve been fortunate enough to just return from a trip around the USA. But apart from that, I would love to visit Bucharest, Romania, and in particular the People’s Palace there.
