Albert Patrashku, Head of Design at Clausematch, discusses his experience

Albert Patrashku is the Head of Design at Clausematch. We recently sat down with Albert to learn more about his role at Clausematch.

What is your role at Clausematch and what does it entail?

As the Head of Design, I conduct the design strategy and vision for the company, ensuring that our products are user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with the company's objectives and values.

I also act as a team lead for our talented product team. I am accountable for guiding and supporting the team in reaching their goals, providing help and support, enabling communication, and cultivating a positive work atmosphere.

At Clausematch, I can pursue my passions for individual contribution and team management. It can be a challenging balance to maintain, but it is also an advantageous experience to contribute individually and as a leader. I continue to work on projects as an individual contributor and take on the additional responsibilities of managing a team. I use my skills and knowledge to support my team while learning and growing myself through the process. I am grateful that Clausematch supports me in following my interests and has helped me to find a role that aligns with my strengths and goals. I can significantly impact the company while pursuing my personal and professional development.

What were you doing before joining the Clausematch team?

Before joining the Clausematch team, I was the Art Director at POSSIBLE, a renowned advertising agency, where I led a team of talented individuals in the mobile development department. We worked with major international brands and were recognized for our outstanding work with several global and national awards. In addition to my professional background, I also hold a degree in music, which has greatly influenced my creative approach. As a choir conductor and music teacher, I learned to appreciate the beauty in details and draw inspiration from complexity. Choir conducting has also taught me how to work with people and the value of teamwork, which I have carried over into my work as a design manager. In choir, there is no place for ego. Egoless collaboration is crucial for a unified and smooth performance for the design team or any team.

Why did you decide to join Clausematch?

I had the opportunity to work with the founders of Clausematch before officially joining the team. Their passion and dedication to the product and the problems it solved really inspired me. I knew that my skills, experience, and knowledge would be valuable assets to the company, and I wanted to be a part of its success. I've found my time at Clausematch to be incredibly fulfilling, and I'm grateful to be able to continue being a part of the team after eight years.

What has been one of your most memorable moments at Clausematch?

One of my most memorable moments at Clausematch was our first team offsite in Bucharest in 2016. It was such a fun and bonding experience for all of us, and it really solidified the close-knit team dynamic that we have today. Another memorable moment was when we signed our first client, Barclays. It was a huge achievement for the company and a testament to all the hard work and dedication of the team. It was a truly unforgettable moment.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

One of my greatest passions is education. It is essential for both personal and professional development, and as a parent, I see the impact that education has on my children daily. It shapes their individual personalities and helps them grow into well-rounded individuals. In my spare time, I also love to cook. It allows me to be creative and have some much-needed playtime, something that adults often forget to prioritize. Cooking brings me joy and allows me to share that joy with my family and friends. It's a hobby that I truly cherish.
